FAU Names Three Coaches to Men's Basketball Team

Florida Atlantic has named Mike Jarvis II as its men's basketball associate head coach, and Matt McCall and Tim Kaine as its men's basketball assistant coaches. Each has previous experience at some of the nation's top programs, including St. John's, George Washington, Duke, Florida and Winthrop. "I want guys who can teach, who could recruit and who can communicate. They have the whole package," said Mike Jarvis, FAU's men's basketball head coach.

ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit To Kick-Off 2008 College Football Season at FAU

National City, ESPN Radio 760 and Florida Atlantic University are teaming up to present "National City's College Football Kickoff with Kirk Herbstreit." On August 4th, ESPN College Football analyst Kirk Herbstreit will visit the Florida Atlantic University Campus in Boca Raton to headline the event, which will take place on the practice football fields from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.

FAU's Smith and Joseph Earn SBC Preseason Top Honors

Florida Atlantic University's Rusty Smith and Frantz Joseph have been named the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively. The duo is also expected to guide the Owls to their second consecutive SBC title, according to a vote of conference head coaches and selected media members. The announcement was made at the Sun Belt Conference Media Days currently being held in New Orleans, LA.

FAU Men's Basketball 2008-09 Schedule Announced

Florida Atlantic University men's basketball 2008-09 schedule recently was announced and includes 14 home games, non-conference match-ups at the University of Kentucky, as well as play at the University of Miami. FAU also will make its first appearance in the Preseason National Invitation Tournament. Under Head Coach Mike Jarvis, FAU is set to play a challenging 18-game regular-season Sun Belt Conference schedule.
